The Green Machine

What is a green bus? We found out on December 8th.

Before school on Dec 8th, the ECC bundled up in our winter gear and headed out to the bus loop, where the Green Bus was waiting for us.

The bus was not the color green, but a more efficient bus powered by propane instead of diesel. We learned that this is more efficient because 90% of the propane used in produced in the US and the exhaust from the bus is water vapor instead of harmful greenhouse gases.

What do those recycling numbers mean?

On December 1st, Nurse Gaudreau joined the ECC as a special guest speaker. We looked at the numbers found on plastic recyclables and talked about what sorts of things they can be made into after they are recycled.

Over the last few weeks, we have looked at the art of Andy Goldsworthy. We watched parts of the documentary Rivers and Tides and looked at some of his books. For today's Earth Care Club meeting, we would like each of you to write a few sentences (5 or more) about the experience. You may consider what you like about Andy Goldsworthy's art, how you felt about the art you created in your groups, or why an Earth Care Club may study Andy Goldworthy.
